How we work

The technology leadership layer, with a team behind it.

We are not a managed service provider and we are not a staffing agency. One team sets the plan, owns the budget, and does the work.

How we compare

Every option on this table is the right answer for somebody. Here is where each one actually lands.

Technology decisions show up in the financial statements long before anyone calls them a technology problem. We work from both sides.

Bright Balance Technology

Where to start

Three ways clients engage us. Most start with the first and keep going.

2 to 3 weeks

Technology assessment

We look at your systems, spend, security posture, and team, then give you a ranked plan with costs and a sequence. You own the document either way.

  • Interviews across leadership and the team
  • Spend, contract, and license review
  • Ranked plan with costs and sequencing
Ongoing, a few days a month

Fractional CIO or CISO

A named leader in your leadership meetings, accountable for the roadmap, the budget, and the vendors. Scale the days up during a project and back down after.

  • A named leader, not a rotating bench
  • Roadmap, budget, and vendor ownership
  • Board and lender reporting
Project based

Implementation

ERP, integrations, security remediation, or an AI build. Fixed scope, named team, and a go live date we commit to.

  • A go live date we commit to
  • Handover to people who stay

What the first 90 days look like

Nothing here is a surprise, which is the point. You should be able to predict what we are going to do before we do it.

See the four things we do →
  1. 01

    We listen before we look

A first conversation with you and whoever else carries the problem. No slides, no discovery invoice. By the end of it we can usually tell you whether we are the right fit, and we will say so if we are not.

  2. 02

We assess what is actually there

Two to three weeks across your systems, spend, security posture, and team. We talk to the people using the systems, not only the people who bought them.

  3. 03

We hand you a ranked plan

Costs, sequence, and the reasoning behind both — written so your CFO and your board can read it. You own the document whether or not you hire us for the next step.

  4. 04

    We do the work

A named leader stays accountable for the roadmap and the budget while our delivery team executes against it. Days scale up during a project and back down after.

  5. 05

We hand over to people who stay

Every engagement is built to be handed back. Documentation, training, and a team that knows the system are part of the scope, not an upsell after go live.

Start with a conversation, not a contract.

The first call costs nothing and we will tell you honestly whether we are the right fit. If the answer is an MSP or a full-time hire, we will say that too.
